UFC Bryce Mitchell Sparks Outrage Over Controversial Comments

UFC Bryce Mitchell Under Fire for Defending Hitler and Denying the Holocaust
Bryce Mitchell has polarized and snuffed the flame of controversies among his latest series of anti-Jewish, anti-homos, and anti-transgender statements on his newly formed ArkanSanity Podcast. The fighter not only labeled Adolf Hitler as someone a bit forgetful on meth, but he also condemned the Holocaust and was awash with condemning from Dana White, the president of the UFC and journalists, along with other activists.
While criticized, UFC remained on its ground not to take any disciplinary actions against Mitchell because it’s all about free speech. This stance has perpetuated further controversy about the accountability of combat sports, with many calling for the UFC to distance itself from the fighter.
Shocking remarks of Bryce Mitchell and the UFC’s reaction
On the first episode of the ArkanSanity Podcast, UFC Bryce Mitchell said, “I think before Hitler got on meth, he was a guy I’d go fishing with; he fought for his country. He wanted to purify it, kicking the greedy Jews out, who were destroying his country and turning them all into gays.”
Mitchell made additional remarks, which included written-on conspiracies about LGBTQ+ influence in Nazi Germany, going on to wrongly assert that Germany’s first gender-affirming surgeries were the agenda long before Hitler took office. He called the Holocaust a nonexistent event:
“The Holocaust ain’t real.”
The comments went public on various social media platforms, attracting outrage from Jewish organizations, human rights advocates, and MMA journalists. The words of Dana White, UFC president and CEO, were against Mitchell: “Hitler is one of the scummiest and evillest humans that’s ever walked this Earth, and anyone that even tries taking a position against that is a moron.”
Yet White defended Mitchell’s right to free speech and insisted the UFC had no plans to act. Instead, he commented that fans who were offended by Mitchell’s opinions could simply hope he lost in the octagon.

Outcry from MMA Community and Beyond
The fallout from UFC Bryce Mitchell’s comments came swift and hard. Jewish combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani called it a “low day for MMA,” while the Anti-Defamation League urged the UFC to take action against him:
“In just a few minutes, Mitchell managed to express anti-Semitic, homophobic, and transphobic sentiments. These ideas are poisonous and have no room in the sport.”
Though some have been vocal in condemning his views, Mitchell has not retracted his comments, continuing to speak from a place of insult. His comments have restarted the debate on hate speech, the responsibility of platforms, and the UFC’s position on controversial fighters.

Will UFC Bryce Mitchell Be Punished?
While the UFC has refused to suspend or fine Mitchell over his remarks, fallout from the uproar may threaten his career and sponsorship options. It has been known for fighters to have received punishment for far less inflammatory statements, casting suspicion over whether there is equal application of rules by the UFC.
As the firestorm continues to unfold, UFC Bryce Mitchell’s future in the sport seems equally unsure. The ultimate judgment of whether his comments would have any real consequences or merely be another one item toward this scandal lies with the UFC, its fans, and corporate sponsors.
For now, Mitchell will continue fighting, with fighting fans looking forward to his next duel and to see if there’s payback to come inside the cage for the provocative comments he made.
